What to Expect During a Reiki Session
A Reiki session is a calming and restorative experience designed to enhance your well-being. Here’s what you can expect during your session:
1. Warm Welcome: When you arrive for your Reiki session, you’ll be greeted warmly and made to feel comfortable. I’ll take a moment to discuss your needs and any specific areas you’d like to focus on during the session.
2. Setting the Intention: Before we begin, we’ll set an intention for the session. This could be related to relaxation, emotional healing, or any other personal goals you may have.
3. Getting Comfortable: You’ll be asked to lie down fully clothed on a comfortable massage table. The environment will be soothing, with dim lighting and soft, calming music to help you relax.
4. Energy Assessment: I may begin by gently placing my hands near or on your body to assess your energy flow. This helps me to identify any areas of tension or imbalance that may need attention.
5. Reiki Healing: During the session, I’ll use a series of hand positions, either lightly touching or hovering above your body. Reiki energy will flow through my hands and into your body, helping to clear blockages, balance energy, and promote healing.
6. Relaxation: Most people feel deeply relaxed during a Reiki session. You might experience sensations such as warmth, tingling, or a sense of floating. It’s perfectly normal to feel drowsy or to even fall asleep during the session.
7. Post-Session Reflection: After the session, we’ll take a few moments to discuss your experience and any sensations or insights you might have had. I’ll also provide guidance on how to continue benefiting from Reiki in your daily life.
8. Aftercare: It’s important to drink plenty of water and take time for yourself after a session. Many people find that they continue to experience positive effects for days or even weeks following their Reiki treatment.
